Host a container
We provide outdoor book collection containers in a variety of sizes to meet all space constraints at no charge in the parking lots of recycling centers, schools, businesses, and houses of worship. Businesses may take a tax deduction for the small amount of space the container occupies in their parking lot, since we are a Section 501(C)3 charity.
Is your town recycling center, school, library, religious group, business, or other civic organization willing to provide space for a container?
Hosting a container and having subsequent book drives is great for groups looking for a community service project!
Help us find a host in your town
If your organization is willing to provide a site for one of our containers, please ask the relevant person to contact us to discuss the possibilities.
Town officials can reduce costs & receive credit for waste abatement measures
Advocate for a collection container in your town's recycling center or Department of Public Works yard. If the proposed container site is on public property, your municipal recycling coordinator can take credit in his/her periodic reporting to the state of recycling/reuse initiatives each time we empty the container. This translates into more money and equipment grants coming back to your town from the state as a reward for taking waste abatement measures. There is, therefore, an opportunity for significant cost savings to the town by participating in our dual waste abatement/book reuse program. Without collection containers, books are disposed of in municipal trash piles, adding to communities' trash collection expenses. Participating in our book collection program helps municipalities keep their trash bills and property taxes down, while also providing a humanitarian and environmental service.

Container Specifications
The containers are provided free of charge and are available in different sizes to meet your space constraints.
The containers come with either a drop slot through which books can be inserted or a door that opens into the container. The drop slot containers don't require an attendant--and they are very popular at parking lot locations at houses of worship and businesses.
The walk-in containers, usually chosen by recycling centers, have a set of latching braces on the outside to restrict access when the container is not open to the public.
All containers can be set on a dirt, grass, or paved surface. They are maintenance-free and we take responsibility for emptying them each time they fill.
